SURGERY
Campbell Village has two dedicated surgical suites with sophisticated diagnostic, monitoring and surgical equipment. We offer the same equipment and supplies as high-quality human hospitals to facilitate the best care possible for your pet. Our surgical services include general and advanced soft tissue procedures, such as ovariohysterectonoy (spay), castration (neuter), and other reproductive system, skin, intestinal system and internal organ procedures; and orthopedic procedures, including joint and bone problems.
Prior to undergoing any surgical procedure, each patient undergoes a thorough physical examination. It is strongly recommended that preoperative blood work also be run to check for underlying problems.
Prior to surgery, the patient is administered IV fluids and gas anesthesia by intubation. During surgery, the patient’s heart, pulse, oxygen saturation and blood pressure levels are continuously monitored. Pre, intra and post operative treatment of pain allows the pet to be as comfortable as possible and promotes healing. And, our well-trained staff continues to monitor the patient after surgery.

PRE-SURGICAL INSTRUCTIONS
- No food past midnight the evening prior to surgery.
- Water is permitted until the morning of surgery.
- Give your pet his regular medication unless instructed otherwise.
- Drop your pet off at the hospital between 8 and 9 a.m.

We recommend pre-anesthetic lab testing. The testing is designed to evaluate your pet’s ability to handle and/or metabolize anesthesia.
